BC Hydro offers a wide range of integrated energy efficiency solutions to help large commercial and industrial businesses optimize their energy usage.
Businesses can access support for energy efficient electrification projects, including:
- Facility retrofits
- Transport fleet electrification
If your large commercial or industrial business is looking to improve its energy efficiency, you may be eligible for support.
Eligible industries
Businesses that are new to B.C. or already based in B.C. across the large commercial, industrial, and transportation sectors including, but not limited to:
- Gas processing facilities
- Pipelines
- Mining and forestry
- District energy
- Transportation (marine, road, rail, air)
- Agriculture
- Others
Studies and energy efficiency projects
Feasibility studies
Funding is available for feasibility studies to estimate increased electricity consumption, reductions in Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions to grade 10 (+/- 10%), and implementation costs to grade 30 (+/- 30%).
Project incentives
Project incentives are a mechanism by which businesses can lower the capital requirements to improve payback and/or meet investment criteria for implementing energy efficiency projects.
Incentives are available for hard capital projects with a minimum persistence of five years that increase electricity consumption by a minimum of 200,000 kWh/year. Bundling of projects is permitted to achieve minimum consumption requirements.
Pilot projects
Incentive funding is available for projects that demonstrate technologies that are commercially available but not widely used in B.C. or for testing technologies that are relatively new.
